What Can I Do?

Georgia Parents for Responsible Health Education believe that members of local School Boards, as well as local and state politicians need to listen to their constituents’ concerns regarding sex education.

We also know that, as a parent, you are pulled in many directions all at once. We offer you, and anybody who cares for Georgia’s children, an easy way to advocate for comprehensive sex education in Georgia by supporting the following statement:

I Support Comprehensive Sex Education in Georgia Public Schools
- which is medically and scientifically accurate, age-appropriate, appropriate for students regardless of gender, race, disability status, or sexual orientation
- which includes information on abstinence and other methods of preventing unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases
- which help students develop skills for making responsible decisions about their sexuality
- which encourage parental involvement and family communication
- where abstinence may not be taught to the exclusion of other materials and instruction on contraceptives and disease prevention

You can download the petition and ask friends, neighbors, fellow parents to sign – make a copy and send to us, and take the original to your school board.

We know there is strength in numbers and we will carry these signed petitions with us to meetings with local, state, and federal decision-makers, showing them that we, in Georgia, really do want our children to receive sex education that is medically accurate and age appropriate.

THANKS!
